Swindon 1, Northampton 1

Swindon Town drew 1-1 with Northampton Town today at the County Ground in a match that lacked any atmosphere.

Before the match Swindon Town introduced new signing Simon Cox to the Swindon fans who gave him a good reception. Cox was unable to play for Swindon due to a problem with a clause in Cox’s Reading contract that The Football League were not happy with.

The teams went into half time with the score at 0-0 with the game lacking any sort of energy.

Swindon would come out the better of the 2 teams at the start of the second half and took a 1-0 when Blair Sturrock, who came on for the injured Barry Corr in the first half converted a Miguel Comminges throw.

It looked as if Swindon would secure all 3 points until Adebayo Akinfenwa came on for The Cobblers and scored a goal to ensure that The Cobblers went home with a share of the points.

Overall a poor match on the field and no atmosphere in the stands today.
