Alessandro Cibocchi is to become Swindon Town’s fourth Italian to join the ranks this summer.

Cibocchi, 28, has agreed a two year deal with the club after impressing Paolo Di Canio during the clubs training camp in Italy which ended last week.

The left-back didn’t feature in the second friendly against Marche XI which suggested a deal wouldn’t be on the cards.

Cibocchi started his career with Ternana and briefly moved to Torino in 2002 but spent most of his time with Viterbese.

He returned to Ternana in 2003 and remained until 2009. Cibocchi only played 27 times during that time and spent time out on loan with Meda, Potenza and Sassari Torres.

Upon his release from Ternana, Cibocchi spent a season with Colligiana and has more recently played for Deruta and Serie B side PortoSummaga.

Cibocchi will compete with Callum Kennedy for the left-back position.
