Our last three encounters have all resulted in narrow defeats for Swindon (including the last gasp 3-2 loss to Argyle at the County Ground earlier this season).
However, Swindon and Plymouth have rarely played eachother in the F.A. Cup but when they have it’s resulted in an Argyle victory.

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 2-0 SWINDON TOWN
First half goals from Bob Dalrymple and former Newcastle United and Manchester United forward Jock Peddie was enough to give Argyle a 2-0 victory in what was only the second ever meeting between the two clubs.

Saturday, 16th January 1909
PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 1-0 SWINDON TOWN
The only ever fixture between the two clubs in the F.A. Cup occurred within the same decade as the first tie. January 1909 in front of 21,388 spectators in Devon.
Argyle included former Town players Septimus Atterbury and Frank Warburton. Meanwhile, Swindon selected Harold Fleming, Billy Tout and Bob Jefferson who would be considered legends for their long term service to the club (Fleming would go on to play for England too).
However, the game went to Plymouth winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from South Shields born Inside-Left Jimmy Hindmarsh.
