Swindon Town F.C have confirmed that talks with Bill Power and Phil Emmell will commence next week.

A Consortium backed by Power and Emmell are looking to obtain a controlling interest in the football club. Power has already stated that he plans to fund Swindon Town’s new stadium and ensure that all profit from the project is put back into the football club.

STFC confirm that further to subsequent contact, lawyers representing Mr Power and Mr Emmell will meet with the club’s advisors next week.

In the light of the communications with these lawyers, it is apparent that any issues in relation to their clients will be dealt with by solicitors.

Accordingly, in the light of this involvement and the absence of any mention by those lawyers that the purported and much publicised ‘takeover’ approach headed by Mr Wilks forms part of their instruction, no further contact will be had with Mr Wilks. The Club will, however, remain open to discussions should any revised approach be forthcoming.
