Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has bemoaned Mike Grella’s decision to leave Swindon Town early.

The American forward bailed out of the club and posted the following messages on the social network website Twitter…

‘I’ve decided to come back to leeds because under the new management I wasn’t getting games.

My reason for joining Swindon was to help them and to also get games in…

I want to say thanks to the Swindon fans for everything and know that I have a great respect for the club and all the people involved, I hope they stay up because they have a great group of lads and the club deserves to be up higher.’

These comments earned praise from some supporters but he didn’t receive any praise from Town manager Paul Hart who found Grella’s decision as ‘beyond me. We don’t need people like that.’

Now, Leeds United manager has come out and questioned his players decision to walk out on Town.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Grayson stated that the reason Leeds United ‘sent him out was to get games and to be in someone`s first-team picture, whether it`s in the 11 or the 18. We`ve got a lot of players in front of him, and Mike coming back isn`t going to change that.’

To add insult to injury the Yorkshire Evening Standard also reported that Swindon Town are still paying Grella’s wages but were trying to negotiate end the deal which was scheduled to end at the end of the season.

A great season.
