Former Swindon Town players Craig Easton, Sofi Zaaboub and Blair Sturrock have all join fellow ex-Town player Barry Corr at Paul Sturrock’s Southend United. All four were signed by Sturrock while he was at Swindon.

All four of the players have signed one year deals at Southend.

CRAIG EASTON

Has signed a one year deal with the Shrimpers after turning down a similar offer with Swindon. First team football would have been the key behind the move.

Eastie played 75 times for Swindon scoring 8 times between 2007 and 2010.

SOFIENE ZAABOUB

The Frenchman signed for Swindon in 2006 and helped guide Town to automatic promotion from League Two at the first attempt.

He fell out of favour at the club when Sturrock departed for Plymouth Argyle.

Sofi played 56 times for Swindon scoring once between 2006 and 2008.

BARRY CORR

Would probably still be a Swindon Town player had it been for injuries.

Corr joined Town in 2007, initially on loan from Sheffield Wednesday (where he played under Sturrock) and went on to play 28 times for Swindon scoring 7 times between 2007 and 2009.

BLAIR STURROCK

The second time his dad has saved him from the football scrapheap.

He started his career at Dundee United (under father dearest) and moved to Plymouth Argyle (under father dearest).

Upon his release from Argyle he moved to Rochdale and Kidderminster without success but was brought to Swindon by Paul in 2006 where he made 50 league appearances scoring 6 goals before being released in 2009.
