PFA 2UP Fans` Player of the Month in League One is Swindon’s Simon Cox

Cox struck his second hat-trick of the season in the 3-3 draw with Scunthorpe at the weekend, following on from his three-goal heroics against Hartlepool a month ago, much to the delight of manager Maurice Malpas.

‘Simon is in excellent form for us at the moment and it was a terrific hat-trick from him,’ said the Swindon boss. ‘His goals helped us get a terrific point at Scunthorpe against a team in form and playing well. But really when you score three goals away from home you should be looking to take more than a point.’

The PFA 2Up Fans` Player of the Month Awards are the only PFA awards voted for the fans. They are supported by the Fans` Supporters Federation.

Each month, four fans who voted for the winning players in each division are chosen to go to a match and present the trophy to the player on the pitch before kick-off. In addition, at end of the season, one of the yearly fan winners will be invited to the PFA Player of the Year dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, with the highlight of the gala evening being the golden opportunity to meet the winners of the PFA’s prestigious awards.
