Midfielder Craig Rocastle has expressed his regret over not joining Swindon Town last week before the transfer deadline. Rocastle trained with Swindon and was even photographed on the official Swindon Town website in a Swindon kit but a problem with payments allowed Rocastle to join Yeovil Town instead.

It emerged Swindon Town still owed Sheffield Wednesday money for the deal that brough Patrick Collins to the County Ground earlier this season.

Rocastle was then told by Paul Sturrock to go to Yeovil and Craig Rocastle has since voiced his regret over the whole situation. ‘It was difficult and, knowing Iffy, it was hard to let him down. But it was not in my hands so I just had to go where I was told to go.

‘I felt bad, obviously, for letting Iffy down like that because I was there training with them so it was supposed to be a done deal.

‘But I have come to Yeovil now.

Steve Thompson is a really good manager, the boys are great and I just have to do my job.

‘I spoke to Iffy as the deal for me to come here was going through.

‘He was a bit upset because obviously he had to go and try and find someone else with just a few hours left.

‘But I am here now and I like the manager and the club so I’m quite happy.’
