Prutton is an Owl

Largely unpopular (with fans) midfielder David Prutton has left the club for League One outfit Sheffield Wednesday.

Prutton, 29, was considered an exciting prospect earlier in his career making 25 appearances for the England under-21 side.

Having featured in the top flight with Southampton he eventually fell down the leagues with Leeds United, Colchester United and then Swindon. He joined Town last summer on a two year contract with an option of a third year.

However, it wasn’t to be and Prutton failed to impress on a regular basis and considering that he was most probably one our Swindon’s higher earners it wasn’t good enough.

Prutton joins Wednesday on a two year deal. Good luck to the guy.
