Swindon Town have announced that caretaker assistant manager Barry Hunter has left Swindon Town Football Club after the appointment of Paul Sturrock as manager.

Hunter becomes the third person to leave Swindon this afternoon after Dave Tuttle and David Lee left the club earlier in the day.

Acting Chief Executive Martyn Starnes told the official website, ‘Ady and Barry were extremely professional in their approach to managing team affairs and it is regrettable that we were not able to extend their caretaker period.

‘However, when a manager such as the caliber of Paul Sturrock becomes available and expresses a keen interest to join the club, the Board felt they needed to act quickly before another club offered Paul and his team a position.’

Meanwhile Ady Williams will return to the club in a playing role, the same position he had prior to Dennis Wise’ departure from the club 2 weeks ago.
