The full-back made 37 league appearances for Swansea over two separate spells, including making his Premier League debut last term against West Bromwich Albion.

He also played six times in the Championship for Leeds United (but I’m sure we’ll all forgive him for this terrible mistake).

The defender made 13 appearances on loan at Championship new boys Charlton Athletic for the remainder of the 2010-2011 season, where he impressed, but failed to earn a permanent deal, so he returned to Swansea on transfer deadline day last August.

Bessone will provide competition for Jay McEveley, with the pair vying for that spot on the left side of defence, but despite Bessone only holding preliminary talks with the club, a deal may very well be offing, with a loan move being the most probable outcome, with a view to a permanent deal.
