New West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo has given his approval on the deal that will see Swindon Town striker Simon Cox become his first signing.

The deal is thought to be in the region of £2-2.5 million which will possible include add-ons.

Cox had generated considerable interest from clubs including Leicester City and Celtic.

This departure will leave Billy Paynter and Lee Peacock as the clubs only senior strikers.
