Former Reading trainee Charlie Austin has finally signed for Swindon Town after a week of negotiations.

Andrew Fitton describes the prolific Non-Leaguer a ‘classic example of a player ‘who slipped through the net”, he’s scored 18 goals this season alone while we averaged a goal a game during the last campaign too.

Austin has signed until the end of the season for a fee that could rise past the £50,000 mark with add-ons.

He is expected to be in the stands for Town’s visit to Brentford but will be in contention for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy fixture at Exeter.
