Swindon Town caretaker manager David Byrne doesn’t look likely to land the managers job permanently at Swindon Town.

Chairman Andrew Fitton is currently interviewing four potential managers all currently employed by another club which all but rules Byrne out.

Swindon haven’t been bad under Byrne but 6 points dropped to other clubs would have done little help his cause.

Byrne will hopefully still be part of the Swindon Town set-up under a new manager after once again he showed his loyalty to the club.

There is no questioning Byrne’s passion and we honestly believe he will be a successful manager in the future whether that is at Swindon Town or elsewhere is anyones guess.

Wins in the last 3 games where goals were conceded late would have given Fitton something to consider for sure.

Richard Money appears to be on the short list after Fitton replied ‘no comment’ on whether Money was on the list despite stating he had not contacted the former Walsall manager.

Ian Holloway who really wanted the job is out of the race as is John Ward who could be headed to bitter rivals Oxford United in the tin pot Blue Square Premier League.
