Swindon Town advance to the second round of the F.A Cup sponsored by E.ON after beating Wycombe 2-1 at Adams Park this afternoon.

The teams went into half time 0-0 however Christian Roberts would break the deadlock after he converted a cross from Barry Corr across the goalfront.

Town would extend their lead to 2-0 after Billy Paynter scored just seven minutes after coming on.

Wycombe’s Matt Bloomfield would cut the lead to 2-1 after he scored after confusion from Sofiene Zaaboub and Peter Brezovan resulted in a loose ball.

Town would hold on to the 2-1 win and now advance to the second round proper.

Jack Smith returned for Town after being out with a dislocated shoulder.

Barry Corr played 90 minutes for the first time this season.

Town will find out who they will play in the second round at the conclusion of the Yeovil Town/Exeter City match on BBC One.

A very good win in what could have been a very tricky tie at Wycombe. You will be ball number 39 when the draw is made.

Rotherham or Forest Green at Home, hardly a great draw but hopefully it should see us through to the 3rd round.

Great result for you and couldn’t ask for more than a home draw. Great chance of getting into the third round where you could meet one of the big guns!!! What about Sturrock coming back to hillsborough with you lot for a third round tie?
