Former Sheffield Wednesday winger Etiƫnne Esajas has arrived in Italy on trial as Paolo Di Canio continues to look at his options.

Esajas, 26, started out with Vitesse in his native Netherlands before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2007.

The Dutchman enjoyed periods of popularity at Hillsborough but he was plagued by injuries and only made 60 appearances during his three seasons at Wednesday.

Most recently Esajas has been playing in Eerste Divisie with Helmond Sport.

Good god. Very frustrating player at Wednesday he seemed to have a lot about him but we rarely if ever saw it. He had a poor attitude aswell but does have an excellent left peg. Di Canio I don’t think would take any nonsense from him.

Cheers for that James. Di Canio’s been bringing no-nonsense players … Who knows what will happen with Esajas. Fans want forwards.
