After over five months of waiting, Swindon Town have finally bolstered their squad by completing four signings today.

Danny Wilson was confident that their would be new faces before the Walsall game and he has delivered.

28 year old Gordon Greer joins on loan from Coca-Cola side Championship side Doncaster Rovers on a one month loan deal and is expected to feature tomorrow night with Pat Kanuyka suspended.

Greer, a defender, started his career with Clyde before earning a move to Blackburn Rovers in 2001. He failed to make a first team appearance for Rovers before moving back to Scotland with SPL outfit Kilmarnock. After over 100 league outings for Killie he moved to Doncaster Rovers where he has struggled with injuries.

Hal Robson-Kanu also joins on a one month loan deal from Reading. Robson-Kanu is a 19 year old winger who has League One experience with Southend United. Robson-Kanu has played 22 times for the Shrimpers in two loan spells in the last two seasons, including 5 goals and featuring in two wins over Swindon Town, last seasons 1-0 loss at home in March and this seasons 2-1 loss at Roots Hall.

Former trialist Jean-François Lescinel, a 22 year old Haiti international defender, impressed in Swindon Town Reserves 6-3 demolition of Swansea City last week. He has signed a deal until the end of the season.

Lescinel was born in Cayenne in French Guyana, an overseas région and département of France located in South America. He started his career with Paris Saint Germain making a couple of outings for their reserve team before a similar scenario with Sedan B.

He then moved to Falkirk, making his debut at Celtic Park in 2006. However, after only 9 first team games Lescinel retured to France with Ligue 2 outfit Guingamp.

… and finally, joining Lescinel at Swindon until the end of the season is French amateur striker Hamdi Razak, a player Danny Wilson described Razak as a work-in-progress

‘He needs polishing up, a hell of a lot! But he`s got the raw ingredients that you are looking for.’

Razak impressed Town after netting a hat-trick for the Reserves in the 6-3 win against Swansea.

166 odd days in the making… We finally have some signings. Good luck to them – I hope and pray they’re good.

To be honest Robson-Kanu is the only one I’ve heard of.
Even so, this infux of new talent will hopefully lead to the regulars upping their own games to secure 1st team positions.
Good luck to Greer tomorrow as it seems likely he’ll partner the ‘Beast’ at the back.

Come on, let’s kick-start our season again.

Greer looked quality for Donny at the start of last season until his injuries started, may be a bit rusty after not playing since 2007 but give him time he will be good for you, I think he will stay for longer than a month.

He suggests that it’s only a month, I hope he does the business and stays longer – I don’t how long long he’s been injured for this season, he’s not played and with match fitness Sean O’Driscoll could opt to use him after this spell.
