Swindon Town will name Ady Williams and David Byrne as caretaker managers once Paul Sturrock officially joins Plymouth Argyle.
Byrne had been working as Swindon Town’s youth academy manager and helped steer Town’s youth team to the FA Youth Cup quarter finals last season.
Williams took over along with Barry Hunter at Town last season after the departure of Dennis Wise to Leeds United.
It is rumoured that Byrne will eventually re-join Sturrock at Plymouth where he was a player once things have settled down.
It is unsure whether Williams or Byrne will be strictly caretakers or whether they would be in the running to take the job over for good.

Its Byrne I’d be concerned about, his mind will be elsewhere I expect.
If Byrne has been given a shot at landing the job perm, then perhaps he may be the next Aidy Boothroyd? Who knows?
