Many have asked the question what happens if Portsmouth FC go busy on the 10th of August.

Simple answer is, nothing really, to the other clubs.

Although it would be devastating for Pompey fans, it doesn`t really effect other League One clubs.

Who ever Portsmouth were due to play will get a free weekend or night when they were due to play and no points will be awarded as the match is null and void, meaning one team will get the pleasure of finishing the season a week early.

The players will become free agents and be free to sign for any other club without paying compensation to Portsmouth F.C.

In terms of the League table, the league would be played with 23 teams and only 3 being relegated at the end of the season, Portsmouth effectively would finish bottom and at seasons end would be expelled, with only 3 teams being relegated and keeping the format as is, everything will be back to normal the following season.
