Ward/Boothroyd New Favourites For Swindon Job

Former Carlisle boss John Ward and former Watford Boss Aidy Boothroyd have emerged as a new favourite to take over as Swindon Town’s new manager.

Ward who recently left Carlisle, left the club after 10 games without a win although he did help guide Carlisle to the League One playoffs last season. Ward had also helped get Cheltenham Town promotion to League One.

Another heavy favourite right now appears to be Aidy Boothroyd. Aidy was rumoured to be at Town’s match with Leicester City on the weekend however there are no confirmed sightings.

Boothroyd helped take Watford to the Premier League through the playoffs and left 2 weeks ago after the club had no money. Boothroyd had decided he could take Watford no further.

Ian Holloway to many is still the favourite but it changes day by day.

Many names have applied and several who are very good calibre managers according to Town.

Right now Town fans seem split on the following appointments.

— John Ward

– Aidy Boothroyd

– Ian Holloway

– Gus Poyet

Time will tells but the rumour mill is in overdrive at the minute.
