Swindon Town hope to put their home troubles behind them as they head to the Alexandra Stadium to take on Crewe Alexandra this evening.
“It`s clear that my idea of what`s happened in the last month under the embargo didn`t give me the chance to get – I don`t want to say six – but three points that we lost,”
Town boss Paolo Di Canio says the embargo has cost the team points
Crewe currently sit 19th in the League One table with 13 points. Ajay Leitch-Smith is set to miss the match due to an ankle injury whilst Ryan Colclough is out with a broken jaw. Andy Bond could face a late fitness test following a groin injury. Max Clayton is rated 50/50 to be fit for the match.
Could start for the Alex after coming off the bench to score an equaliser against Walsall on the weekend.
Swindon currently sit 6th in the League One table with 22 points. Town will be without Aden Flint who is suspended following a red card against Scunthorpe. Federico Bassone will miss the match due to injury alongside Nathan Thompson, Alan Navarro and Andy Williams.
Devera is likely to be re-called with Flint suspended and injuries to Thompson and Bassone. This could be Devera’s last chance to make an impression at Swindon.
With Town being under a transfer embargo, they will need to ensure they don’t get red carded again. Injuries are limiting Di Canio’s options at the moment. Town have a history of picking up red cards at Crewe.
Town’s away form seems to be better than at home, so I will say a 2-1 away win.
Town hit the road Saturday to take on second placed Stevenage. Kick off is at 3pm.
