Swindon Town face League new boys Exeter City in the next round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

After receiving a bye in Round One (as did Exeter) Town will travel to Devon w/c October 5th.

Until the 1950’s the Swindon Town vs. Exeter City was a regular fixture until Town’s climb up the leagues. Swindon fell once again and the Grecians match was once again prominant until the mid-80’s when Lou Macari took Swindon out of the bottom divisions.

Town already face Exeter away in the league the week before the JPT fixture, this will be the first league encounter with the Grecians since March 1986.

Town fans will get to see former Town favourite Barry Corr in action. Fitness permitting of course.

The last fixture between the two clubs was in the LDV Vans Trophy – Southern Area – Second Round in November 2004.

Swindon won 2-1 with goals from Andy Nicholas and Rory Fallon. Márcio dos Santos Gaia scored the Exeter goal.
