Swindon Town have turned down a £40,000 bid for winger Billy Bodin from League Two side Torquay United.

Town interim chairman Jeremy Wray has dismissed the bid as “insuffient”.

Bodin is thought to be keen on a move to Torquay to link up with his dad Paul`s best friend Martin Ling.

Bodin enjoyed a successful loan spell at Torquay and spoke of his desire to return to Torquay for the second half of the season but was sent to Crewe Alexandra instead where he is also a transfer target.

Whatever happens, it seems that Billy Bodin will not be signing a new contract with Swindon Town as manager Paolo Di Canio told him he cannot guarantee first team football and that he should leave if he is not happy with those terms.
