Swindon:Take The Champagne Off Ice

After the positive news Sunday that the takeover of Swindon Town Football Club would be complete Monday, the club have gone silent.

Swindon Town released a Statement Sunday that said, ‘Negotiations with regards to the takeover of the football club were concluded late on Saturday night, with all points now agreed in principle.

‘Lawyers will now meet on Monday to finalise the documentation and the target for completion is Monday evening.’

For one reason or another this update quickly dissapeared off of the official website and fans are now fearing the worst after the club has said NOTHING about the takeover since Saturday when an e-mail was sent to the wrong people.

There appears to be some sort of stalemate. No one is talking to the media and in true Swindon Town fashion, fans are left in the dark pondering what will happen to Swindon Town F.C.

How could something that was so certain all of a sudden just become nothing.

Even as a courtesy the club could release something giving fans an update about what is going on.

Several fans on message boards have already stated they will boycott Saturday’s home match against Hartlepool should the takeover not be complete.

Should the takeover not go through, fans are sure to be protesting outside of the Arkells Stand after the match no matter what the result is.

Town must secure a takeover deal or find additional funds soon to pay a £900,000 CVA plus the tax man or face being wound up.

We sincerely hope that any problems in the deal are sorted out soon as no fan would like to see the deal collapse again.
