Despite a rubbish refereeing performance from Andy Davies, Swindon Town put in an absolutely class performance to beat Crewe Alexandra 5-0 this afternoon at the County Ground.

Nile Ranger scored his first goal for Swindon Town on 34 minutes for Town and mocked the travelling Crewe fans by pointing to the name on the back of his shirt.

Town were playing attractive attacking football and Crewe spent the afternoon chasing shadows. Massimo Luongo doubled Town’s lead just before half time after slamming the ball past Crewe keeper Alan Martin which ricocheted off the post before heading to the back of the net to make it 2-0 heading into half time.

Ryan Mason who was re-called to the side scored a second half hat trick to give Town all 3 points against Crewe. Mason should have made it four goals on the afternoon but fluffed a penalty which was stopped by Martin on what was pretty much the last kick of the match.
