Swindon Town are expected to speak to Paul Sturrock about taking over the managers role at Swindon Town Football Club.
Sturrock who helped get Sheffield Wednesday promoted to the Championship two seasons ago was sakced by Wednesday last month only weeks after signing a new deal to stay at Wednesday.
Sturrock was top pick to take over Scottish Premier League side Hibs, however the Scottish Premier outfit hired Joh Collins yesterday.
Sturrock has been the fans choice to take over the club, since Dennis Wise` departure to Leeds United last week. Former Swindon Town manager Lou Macari is a close second in fans opinion polls. Macari helped take Swindon Town from the old Division 4 up to Division 2. Macari`s Swindon Town team also has the record for most points in Divison 4 history.
People who have applied for the managers role are former Oxford manager Graham Rix, Luc Nijhiolt, Iffy Onuora and Steve White among 20 other names.

Hope you get him. He will bring you back up to where Town deserves to be. And I can’t help but add, I bet there were jubilations in the town when the Leeds result came in last night:)
He has to be their top choice – bags of experience. Would be a great signing
I don’t think we can take a gamble on an inexperienced manager, so I think with his track record he’s the best so far…
rather him than williams and hunter, nothing personal.
The last person you would want is Graham Rix. Experiance getting out of the basement division is what is needed
Didn’t he manage Poxford for a while – there’s another reason to avoid him, look where they ended up.
