Swindon Town get three valuable points by beating promotion rivals Milton Keynes Dons 1-0 at the National Hockey Stadium.

With MK Dons loss to Swindon it is the first time in 6 games that Milton Keynes had lost a game.

Lee Peacock’s goal on the 31st minute mark gave Town an early lead which sent the Swindon fans into raptures.

Just 4 minutes later MK dons appeared to catch a break as they were awarded a penatly on the 35th minute. Luckily for Swindon fans, goalkeeper Phil Smith was able to save the spot kick taken by top scorer Izale McLeod. McLeod will be annoyed as this was his 2nd missed penalty in as many games.

MK dons looked to have levelled later in the game however the shot taken by Izale McLeod on the 75th minute was ruled offside.

Both teams had several chances including a Lee Peacock effort that hit the post.

Town would manage to hold on to the 1-0 lead and take 6 points from MK Dons in both meeting’s this season with Town’s promotion rivals.

  • fair play to ya we out played you but that ifil is so strong at the back we missed a penalty which i was surprised we got with that referee he gave us like two free kicks all game and we should of had at least another two penalties but u won and that back 4 you need to keep cause they are a good unit anyway think we will both go up i dont think walsall will win the league i can see them having a big bad patch but good luck

  • Perhaps the ref was saving your teams embarressment of missing 3 penalties in one game. Is it my imagination or does MK Donut games revolve around penalties, and opposition players being sent off. Good luck to you and your team.
