Swindon Town’s chairman-designate Andrew Fitton has decided who will be the next manager of Swindon Town but cannot announce it until the takeover is official.

It is believed that Micky Adams or Steve Cotterill will get the post with Martin Allen telling Sky Sports earlier this week that he had not been approached by Swindon Town.

Martin Ling had been heavily linked with the job however no approach has been made by Swindon and if there had been Leyton Orient would have issued a hands off notice.

Fitton told the Swindon Advertiser, ‘We cannot make an announcement regarding the next manager until we own the club,’ Fitton told the Swindon Advertiser on Friday.

‘We are confident we know what announcement we are going to make, but we cannot make that until the takeover is complete.’ Fitton finished.

Town’s takeover should become official no later than the 11th of January as Fitton continues to talk to the Inland Revenue in regards to the clubs mountain of debt..

Either of them would be my choice. As long as they want the team to play football and not hoof ball. With all the respect I had for Paul Sturrock it wasn’t a good style of play he implemented, it got the points fair enough.
