Swindon Town could be set for a big financial windfall following reports that Charlie Austin is set to sign for Premier League new boys Hull City after manager Steve Bruce made the former brick layer his number one transfer target of the summer.

Austin became a hot commodity last season following his goal scoring exploits in the then-nPower Championship last season.

Austin joined Burnley two season ago and apparently rejected the offer of a new contract at Burnley so he could get a move to the Premier League.

Hull have reportedly had a offer of £4.5M accepted by Burnley for the player who enters the final year of his contract.

Swindon Town are set to benefit to the tune of around £900,000 however the club won’t see all that money with a portion going to Poole Town where Town discovered Austin as well as the old board of Swindon Town and other parties.

Town management cannot confirm where the monies will be distributed as part of the non-disclosure agreement signed by the new board as part of the sale of the club in February this year.
