Swindon Town have made an official bid for Reading striker Simon Cox BBC Swindon reports.

Cox was fantastic at Swindon scoring 9 goals in his time at the County Ground before heading back to Reading last week.

Cox made it clear that he would be “over the moon” if he could return to Wiltshire and now Andrew Fitton and Swindon Town are doing their best to ensure this happens.

The Swindon Town players have been badgering Cox to return to the County Ground and Cox seems as keen as anyone to resolve his future sooner rather than later.

Andrew Fitton is believed to have spoken to Reading about acquiring Cox on a permanent basis and has now launched a bid.

Cox was on the bench for Reading when they played Spurs over the weekend.

Town may face stiff competition from other clubs for the strikers services.

Northampton Town and Plymouth Argyle are 2 of the teams that are interested in signing the young hitman.
