Swindon Chasing Leon Constantine

Swindon Town are hoping to sign Striker Leon Constantine under the noses of Leeds United who are unable to sign players due to their financial situation.

Constantine has been on trial at Leeds United but the Western Daily Press is reporting that Swindon Town are ready to swoop to sign the prolific striker and finally solve their goal scoring woes since the departure of Sam Parkin to Ipswich 2 seasons ago.

Constantine who was previously at Port Vale scored 32 goals in 72 appearances for the League One side between 2005-07.

Constantine had played at Millwall, Brentford, Southend, Peterborough, and Torquay prior to joining Port Vale.

It is understood that Crewe Alexandra are also looking to swoop and sign the player. Swindon will be hoping to convince Constantine that a move to the County Ground would be beneficial to him after Leeds are not able to sign players due to their perilous financial situation at Elland Road.

This would come as a major coupe to Swindon fans to sign such a quality player under the noses of former boss Dennis Wise.
