Well shut my mouth.

After somewhat cynically publishing three transfer rumours on Sunday we go and sign two of them a day later!

WELCOME TO SWINDON JONATHAN SMITH

The 24 year old midfielder started his career with Morecambe and featured in the first team as a teenager, playing in the Football League Trophy fixture against Grimsby Town back in October 2005.

He failed to cement a place in the Morecambe first team and later joined Forest Green Rovers in 2007.

In December 2007, Smith featured as a 17th minute substitute for former Town youngster Jamie Pitman in the F.A. Cup 1st Round clash against Swindon at th County Ground. Rovers were unlucky to lose 3-2 thanks to a late Town winner by Blair Sturrock.

Smith spent three full seasons at Forest Green Rovers playing 106 Conference games and scoring 15 goals.

In the summer of 2010 Smith moved north to York City where he became popular with the supporters, scoring 4 times in 39 league outings.

The 6ft 3′ midfielder signs a two year deal.
