Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has revealed in a perfect world, midfielder Michael Timlin who is on loan from Fulham will remain at Swindon Town until the end of the season.

Speaking to the media after yesterday’s match against Notts County Sturrock told the official website, ‘We are trying to extend the contracts of Sofiene (Zaaboub)and Michael Timlin. We will be speaking to Fulham and we are trying to extend Michael’s deal here.’

A hugely talented central midfielder; Timlin suffered a frustrating 2003/04 campaign after a back condition then a broken metatarsal effectively ruled him out for the whole season.

Timlin started his Fulham F.C. career as a left winger but was converted to central midfield by Fulham`s then Academy Director, Steve Kean. The switch paid remarkable dividends for the player as he made rapid through the Academy`s ranks and on to the international stage with the Republic of Ireland international football squad.

Last season Timlin made two appearances for Fulham F.C. and captained the Republic of Ireland under 21 side to victory in the Madeira Cup.

You should be ok, Fulham doing well in Prem, obviously surplus to requirements, at present.
