Sturrock: Let’s Start Scoring Goals

Swindon Town manager Paul Sturrock has re-iterated his team must start scoring more goals if they want to continue their promotion challenge.

‘Over the past few weeks it has been a learning curve – some of the players have benefited from the work we have done, some have not.’ Sturrock said.

Town have had a problem scoring goals since the departure of scoring sensation Sam Parkin 2 season’s ago.

Sturrock feels his players have been a bit complacent when thinking about hitting the back of the net.

‘Not enough of our players think about scoring goals and we haven’t scored enough this season but I am trying to change the way the players think.

‘We were miles better than Saturday (against Morecambe) but we need to bust a gut to score goals.’ Sturrock finished.

Town face an injury crisis up the front after Lee Peacock (shoulder) and Royce Brownlie (dead leg) suffered injuries in the last week. Town have had to start Lukas Jutkiewicz up front as Fola Onibuje is still on loan at League One side Brentford.
