STFC: Your Not Fit To Wear The Shirt

After having time to digest yesterday`s diabolical gutless performance against Millwall, we give our verdict on the squad as a whole.

There once was a time when playing for a club was about loyalty and passion. Unfortunately those days are long gone. Today it is all about money. There is no loyalty or passion anymore which was clearly exhibited by the so called professional footballers that wear the red of Swindon Town week in and week out.

At the end of the day, why would a player care if he performs or not? He still gets paid, he still gets his wage packet. He can just blame the manager, fans for being on their back or anyone but themselves.

Some players have started yelling back at the fans who taunt them, they say “if they give us stick, why can`t we give any back?” Well we are paying customers, that`s why. We pay for your flashy cars, and your over inflated wages. We have every right to slam the performance if it is rubbish which has been the case for the last 3 home games..

The players always say “we need the crowd behind us, we want to get the fans out to support us”. In this time of financial hardship people will decide whether they are getting value for money and will act accordingly. The second half instalment of the season tickets is due now and you can be sure about 2,000 fans won`t be renewing their season ticket for the second half of the season. Why should they? What have they seen to keep them coming back?

The only players who seemed half interested were Jack Smith and Phil Smith. Phil put his nightmare game against Leeds behind him and made a great save to ensure that Town only lost 2-1 instead of 3-1 again.

Swindon`s substitutions are so obvious. Mark Marshall comes to play on the wing around 70-75 minutes and Lee Peacock who is no longer any good up front comes on late in the game replacing Paynter who has done nothing wrong to be substituted. Peacock should be playing in midfield.

Somehow our defence, which was one of the best in the league, is now one of the worst and our manager is a former International defender for Scotland? How does that work? Surly we should be better?

It`s time for the players to get their fingers out and fight for the cause. “Our aim is the playoffs?” That aim is complete rubbish now, there is no chance we will get to the playoffs at this rate, you lads have a relegation battle on your hands now, The talent is there to do well, what is going on?

SORT IT OUT NOW or you will be playing League 2 football next season.
