Swindon Town are set to play Greek champions Panathinaikos during their annual stay in Obertauern.

The Swindon Advertiser expect Swindon to play two fixtures during the trip and hope to confirm the fixture with Greece’s double winners soon.

Those currently on the books at Panathinaikos include ex-Premier League players Gilberto Silva, Djibril Cissé and Sebastián Leto. Not to mention a host of other international players including Greece’s 2004 European Championship winners Giorgos Karagounis and Kostas Katsouranis along with a host other internationals such as Sotiris Ninis, Lazaros Christodoulopoulos (both Greece), Mattias Bjärsmyr (Sweden), Cédric Kanté (Mali) and Simão Junior (Mozambique)

During their Pre-Season summers in Austria, Swindon have faced unlikely competition from the likes of Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, major Romanian outfits Steaua Bucuresti and CFR 1907 Cluj and random minor clubs such as SV Brandl Bau Bad Ischl and TSV St. Johann.
