Midfielder Michael Timlin has joined Southend United on a one month loan deal.

Timlin has been a fringe player at Swindon pretty much since Danny Wilson arrived but has been a dedicated part of the squad.

He started the JP Trophy match at Southampton and the 0-0 draw with Carlisle United.

However, with Jonathan Douglas, David Prutton and Simon Ferry all ahead of him it’s an ideal move for him to get games under his belt.

Former Town manager Paul Sturrock has moved quickly to replace former Town place Craig Easton, who is injured until October.
