Swindon Town have announced they have sacked manager Mark Cooper following the 2-0 loss at Millwall yesterday.

Town have lost seven of their last eight games and find themselves just outside the relegation places on goal difference.

Cooper lead Swindon to the League One playoff final last season but the team as a whole has struggled since February.

Cooper had most his players sold in the Summer and was linked with a move to Sheffield United at one stage. It’s been clear for a while Cooper was clueless although the recent results could be attributed to injuries which have plagued the squad.

Town have yet to confirm an appointment although it’s believed that Swindon Town chairman Lee Power himself will take over the reigns as manager.
