Caretaker manager Paul Bodin has confirmed that Alan Sheehan has had a trial with recently relegated Preston North End.

In a pre-match interview on BBC Radio Wiltshire, the Town boss confirmed that the former Republic of Ireland under-21 international is looking for a move to Phil Brown’s Preston North End side who will play in League One next season.

Bodin criticised Sheehan’s commitment to Swindon and stated that he will no play for Swindon Town again.

Sheehan enjoyed a successful loan spell at Swindon last season and eventually, somewhat reluctantly, signed a permanent deal until the end of the season.
