With the January transfer window opening rumours have been recently flying from mostly unreliable sources.

These rumours tend to be conjured up by lonely individuels with nothing else to do with their lives other than to post faux-transfer news across the internet usually concluded with the word ‘FACT’.

However, the Swindon Town career of former Republic of Ireland international Alan O’Brien has been one of injury and disappointment. It would make sense to see the winger depart on either a permanent or temporary basis.

Obviously, there is a chance that the dropping of O’Brien for Billy Bodin for the Bournemouth fixture could be due to another injury but it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t see O’Brien in a Town shirt again.

Alan O’Brien was signed by Danny Wilson on a Free Transfer after being released from Scottish Premier League outfit Hibernian in the Summer of 2009.
