Chairman Andrew Fitton has confirmed that the club have had an official offer for team captain Gordon Greer from Brighton & Hove Albion and that said bid was rejected by the club.

Brighton have been known admirers of Greer for some weeks now but despite reports from Sussex suggesting the Seagulls had placed a bid such news was refuted by Fitton. However, the club have now admitted that a bid has come in but does not meet Swindon’s valuation of Greer.

Both Fitton and Danny Wilson have always acknowledged that every player has a price but Town fans will be hoping this will be the end of Brighton’s interest.
