Former Swindon Town manager Mark Cooper could be set for a quick return to football with Barnsley apparently showing an interest in the former Town boss.

Cooper was sacked following Town’s defeat at Blackpool however her remains a hotly wanted manager despite the sacking after leading Town to the League One final last season under limited resources.

Barnsley had shown interest in Cooper before but Town turned down an approach for the manager last season.

Should Cooper head to Barnsley he would be reunited with Town striker Michael Smith who is currently on loan from Swindon.

Barnsley currently sit above Town by one point in the League One Table in 22nd place.
