Manchester City loanee David Ball has returned to his parent club instead of extending his stay at Swindon.

The writing was on the wall for the young centre forward as he struggled to cement a first team place in Danny Wilson’s side.

Ball played 17 times in League One for Swindon, scoring his only two goals in the 6-5 loss to Peterborough United. His only other goal came in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory over Torquay United.

It is likely that Ball will be sent out to another club who are more likely to give the highly rated player more game time.
