Chief Executive Nick Watkins has confirmed that the club have appointed The Frank Whittle Partnership to operate the first phase of the redevelopment of the County Ground.

The Frank Whittle Partnership have been involved in several sporting projects including the stadium development of rugby side Leicester Tigers, Preston North End’s Deepdale and training ground and The Trustees of The National Football Museum.

The Don Rogers Stand will remain as it is but the other three stands will all be worked on one-by-one.

Watkins told the Swindon Advertiser that ‘Firstly, [Frank Whittle Partnership] have a very good pedigree and have also done some interesting work on in-situ redevelopment, like the Deepdale Stadium at Preston North End, and minimised the amount of disturbance while that is taking place.’

Excellent – the place needs it – and if we are carry on and get promotion either this season or next it could be well timed.
