Alan Sheehan has left Swindon Town to join Martin Allen’s Notts County on a free transfer.

The Irish defender was out-of-contract with Swindon and it was rumoured that despite receiving two one year offers from League One clubs, Sheehan was holding out for a two year offer from Paolo Di Canio.

That offer never emerged but a two year offer came in from Notts County and away he goes!

Sheehan joined on a free after leaving Leeds United. He had a reasonably successful loan spell at the County Ground but failed to meet expectations after joining on a permanent deal.
