BBC Radio Bristol is reporting that a decision on whether Bristol Rovers will groundshare with Swindon or Cheltenham will be made this week.

After Bristol Rovers won promotion to League One over the weekend against Shrewsburty Town, it would appear a ground share with Swindon Town would be the most favourable option to Rovers as the County Ground can hold more fans for games.

Most Bristol Rovers fans prefer to ground share at Cheltenham Town.

Swindon Town fans are firmly against any ground share with their west country rivals after trouble flared at both League 2 fixtures last season including seats being thrown and innocent fans attacked in a beer garden in Bristol last month.

A Swindon/Rovers ground share would also present a problem with both teams playing each other in League One, Swindon Town would effectively be the away team for a fixture against The Gas.

Swindon Town F.C is currently speaking with several parties before making a final decision on whether to share with Bristol Rovers. The club released a statement last month condemning the attacks on innocent fans and said that this violence would play a part in any decision that is made.
