Rovers Ground Share Back On?

The proposed ground share between Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town could be dead after Bristol Rovers have confirmed they have contacted Swindon Town about a ground share.

Fans were solidly against any ground share with Bristol Rovers last season due to trouble flaring between both sets of supporters.

Bristol Rovers are concerned that they will lose out on much needed income by playing at the smaller Whaddon Road stadium in Cheltenham.

Rovers current ground the Memorial Stadium is due to be converted to a 18,000 all seater stadium and will take over 18 months to complete.

Rovers cross-town rivals Bristol City are not willing to share with The Gas however a move to the County Ground could be back on.

Should this suggestion become a reality there will likely be fierce opposition from Swindon fans who last year chanted “WE DON`T WANT ROVERS HERE”.

We are fairly sure that most Swindon Town fans still do not want Bristol Rovers playing at the County Ground due to persistent trouble between the 2 sets of fans at both home and away fixtures over the last 2 seasons.
