Barnsley have revealed that they are entitled to 20 percent of Rory Fallon’s transfer meaning they will net a £50,000 windfall.

Speaking to the Official Barnsley Wesbsite, Barnsley Chairman Gordan Shepherd said: ‘I am sure every Barnsley supporter would want to wish Rory every success with his move to the Liberty Stadium.

‘Fortunately Gudjon Thordarson had the foresight to insist on a sell on clause in the transfer agreement taking Rory to Swindon back in 2003 so Barnsley FC would benefit financially from any future deal.

‘To make things crystal clear the sell on clause in the agreement is 20 per cent of any transfer fee over £50,000. Barnsley Football Club will therefore benefit to the tune of £50,000’.

It had been rumoured that the Oakwell outfit were to get anywhere between 30-40% of the fee. It will certainly be good news to Swindon supporters that Barnsley are only entitled to 20%.

Deputy Chairman Mark Devlin has given manager Iffy Onuora the green light to look for a replacement for Fallon before the end of the transfer window.
