Swindon Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected following the clash with Port Vale.

The performance by Marc Richards in the three two victory over Port Vale at the weekend at the County Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Richards was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Two more goals for Richards took his Swindon tally to seven since his January arrival, netting twice against his former club in a five-goal thriller.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Richards for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Costel Pantilimon (Nottingham Forest), Matt Targett (Fulham), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), Tom Anderson (Doncaster Rovers), Jason Demetriou (Southend United), Ben Kennedy (Stevenage), Richie Towell (Rotherham United), Ahmed Kashi (Charlton Athletic), Marc Richards (Swindon Town), Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe Wanderers).

Manager – Joe Dunne (Cambridge United).
