Rich Swindon Town Won’t Splash Cash

Swindon Town chairman Andrew Fitton has warned club’s that despite being one of only 27 clubs in the black in the Football League, they won’t be splashing the cash this summer.

Town assistant boss David Byrne has warned teams that despite the club having mega-rich owners the club will be working within a budget and won’t go splashing the cash.

Chairman Andrew Fitton told the Swindon Advertiser, ‘If we want a player, then we are willing to pay for him as we did with Simon Cox, but we can be as hard nosed as the next man,

‘It’s very easy to get sucked into this way of spending more and more money, but we have to be realistic and look at the big picture.’

Town have yet to make any signings this Summer but are talking to Championship clubs about signing players however the club will not just sign a player for the sake of it. The player must fit into the plan that Town boss Maurice Malpas has in place.
